Long notice period should be modified

There will always be two way communication to understand each other.

However, I don’t see it in the field of IT when it comes to hiring.

Why?

I’ve been noticing that the recruiters are asking to join ASAP or to join in a month or so.

The same request/protocols should be followed when it comes to employee leaving right?

Not sure, If I’m only complaining about this or am I over reacting?

But, things are going in a different way.

If as an employee, I received an offer and the requirement is to join ASAP so I should be relieved as my company wants me to join at earliest. but it isn’t okay and company’s policies and so on will come to picture here.

Same way, when you’re hiring then why the HR would ask to join immediately when you aren’t willing to apply the same in your own company?

That’s why I said, the communication will always be a two way and there is no one way communication to topic or any thing.

So, In order to make the change or bring the change, first, we need to change our own policies.

It is very simple and legally or practically if you just understand it,

It is purely based on the clients requirement to join the company at earliest as they might be having a low bandwidth or might be having a project to close and so on, we can understand as a business justification.

Than, why are we not ready to apply the same?

And, another thing is why to hold an employee for 2 months or 3 months notice period?

anyone can be trained in a month and that is ample amount of time for an experienced employee to wrap up things quickly that is called experience.

Just because of your 2 and 3 months policies, employee’s are sticking with your bad or low company policies,

Employee isn’t able to make a switch due to long duration and other companies are asking to join in a very less time. so how does an employee react to it?

When you also know the other companies policies and so on, so why don’t we accept it?

Two simple things to understand

1. If you’re at the position and can’t modify or change the protocols if those are really required then you’re just EDUCATED but not the well EDUCATED.

2. When you want to take someone on short notice period then you should also relieve your employee on short notice period only when required.
